    About “Investor Ready: £500k+”

    In the current economy, there are an increasing number of entrepreneurs and a decreasing number of VCs. So how do you attract a VCs attention and how do you pitch to them? To give yourself the best chance you need to understand how VCs think and carry out their selection process.

    E-Synergy is one of the most active investors in the UK and they have put together an intensive three-day programme to qualify and prepare Northern Irish start-ups and entrepreneurs for engagement with VCs and fundraising. The programme will end with ventures pitching to an investment panel which will be filmed to use as feedback for one of the follow-on investment events.

    The course will be delivered by E-Synergy and covers:

    • The business of venture capital.
    • A day in the life of a VC (what a VC looks for).
    • How to pitch to a VC.
    • What to expect from a "value" VC.

    Access to capital events

    At the end of the programme selected teams will have the opportunity to pitch at one or more of the following investment events:

    Halo angel investor network: 125 registered angel investors are looking forward to considering your investment opportunity.

    VC Forum: NISP CONNECT VC Forum is an exclusive, private, and invitation-only showcasing event for promising, emerging technologies and companies in the region. Selected ambitious companies will have the opportunity to present their technology to a group of premier capital providers. NISP CONNECT's VC Forum will take place on 23 September 2010.

    ITLG: “Silicon Valley Comes to Ireland” – a delegation of leading venture capitalists and entrepreneurs from the world’s greatest centre of venture, taking place in Autumn 2010.

    Eligibility

    To be eligible to enrol in the programme, applicants must:

    • have a business plan or business model slide deck;
    • have a technology related product or service for VCF, however this rule does not apply for companies wishing to present at Halo;
    • have an incorporated/registered company with at least one full time employee;
    • be looking for funding in three to six months;
    • be prepared to dedicate three times 16 hours commitment; and
    • be Northern Ireland based.

    Cost

    This programme is provided free of charge to entrepreneurs who are accepted on to the programme. A £100 refundable deposit will be required from each participating company. Space is strictly limited to a maximum of twelve companies, and up to three representatives per company, however only one person per company can attend the Halo dinner.
