Dr. John White

After a career as an electronics engineer and research manager, John led the MBO of Thorn EMI Central Research Laboratories. He successfully floated the buy-out vehicle, Scipher, on the main London Stock Exchange in February 2000 at a capitalisation of £300m making 100 times return on initial investment.

John is a founding director of E-Synergy. He has considerable expertise in technology and IP Management having been MD of the EMI research laboratories. He is a specialist in semiconductors and displays. He was appointed Managing Director of EMI CRL in 1993 and Deputy Chairman of Scipher from 1996 to 2002. He was responsible for development and transition of the company from a corporate Research and Design house to a commercial operation with extensive overseas business.

John is Chairman of OLED-T, a successful spin out from London South Bank University and Chairman and director of seven other new businesses.
